Trunk or Treat Registration – FRI, OCT 30

South Drive-In’s Trunk ~or~ Treat Vehicle Registration Form

Thank you for participating in our second annual “Trunk ~or~ Treat” at the South Drive-In theater.  The gates will open at approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday, October 30th for all participants (this includes both the Trunk & costume contests & Trick or Treaters).  Please arrive with your decked-out trunk as early as possible to be judged and be ready to go before trick or treat starts at 7:00pm. If you need a little extra time, we will come back to you.  All participants should abide by the Covid-19 safety tips below issued by the Columbus Public Health Department.

Halloween & Covid-19 Trick or Treat Safety Tips:
Trick or Treaters:

• Make sure your face mask completely covers your nose and mouth at all times.
• Maintain social distance of at least six feet from other groups.

Treat Givers:
• Do not give out candy if you or anyone in your household feels sick, has symptoms of COVID-19 or is at high risk of complications.
• Designate one person per household/car to hand out candy.
• Wear a face mask and put it on before opening the door/handing out candy.
• Make sure the mask completely covers your nose and mouth.
• Put treats in individual baggies and lay them out instead of putting them in a large bowl.
• Sit outside behind a table to give out treats.
• Provide hand sanitizer for trick or treaters.
• Wash your hands frequently.
• Get a flu vaccine at least two weeks before Halloween.

Your “trunk” can be simple or elaborate…it’s completely up to you. As you’re dreaming up ideas, consider your trunk as the stage on which you will perform in your coordinating costume with fun scene settings and props. If you are representing a business, perhaps a theme in support of your business would be fun. Feel free to bring fliers from your business to pass out about upcoming children’s programs. Need some inspiration? A quick search of “Trunk or Treat” on the Internet and you’ll find dozens of photos that others have posted of their own annual event. The possibilities are endless.

When selecting treats for “Trick-or-Treaters”, candy (pre-wrapped & sealed) is certainly an obvious choice but other favorite treats include pencils, pens, erasers, glow sticks, bracelets, bookmarks, stickers, notepads, bouncy balls, and fake tattoos. Please be prepared to accommodate approximately upwards of 200 – 400 children, possibly more.

Please remember to keep your display PG/PG-13 appropriate, no vulgar displays of drugs or of any type of sexual nature.

Trunks will be judged on Creativity/Originality, Detail, Theme Execution, Costume, and interaction with the Trick -or- Treaters.
